    Aviso do Chefe do Executivo n.º 55/2011

    O Chefe do Executivo manda publicar, nos termos do n.º 1 do artigo 6.º da Lei n.º 3/1999 da Região Administrativa Especial de Macau, por ordem do Governo Popular Central, o Acordo entre o Governo da República Popular da China e o Governo do Reino da Suécia relativo à manutenção do Consulado Geral do Reino da Suécia na Região Administrativa Especial de Hong Kong da República Popular da China, feito em Pequim, em 3 de Novembro de 1996, nos seus textos autênticos em línguas chinesa e inglesa.

    Em conformidade com o disposto no referido Acordo, o Consulado Geral do Reino da Suécia na Região Administrativa Especial de Hong Kong pode, desde a data em que a República Popular da China voltou a assumir o exercício da soberania sobre Macau, em 20 de Dezembro de 1999, continuar a exercer funções consulares na Região Administrativa Especial de Macau.

    Agreement Between The Government of the People’s Republic of China and The Government of the Kingdom of Sweden concerning the maintenance of the Consulate General of Sweden in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China

    The Government of the People’s Republic of China and the Government of the Kingdom of Sweden, out of a common desire to develop further the friendly relations between the two countries, in accordance with Section XI of Annex I of the Joint Declaration of the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on the Question of Hong Kong, and Article 157 of the Basic Law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China, which stipulates that “Consular and other official missions established in Hong Kong by states which have formal diplomatic relations with the People’s Republic of China may be maintained”, and taking into account the status quo of the friendly consular relations between China and Sweden, have reached the following, Agreement concerning the maintenance of the Consulate General of Sweden in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China following the resumption of the exercise of sovereignity over Hong Kong by the Government of the People’s Republic of China on 1 July 1997:

    1. The Government of the People’s Republic of China agrees to the maintenance by the Government of Sweden of its Consulate General in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China. The Consular District of the Swedish Consulate General shall be the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

    2. The Government of the People’s Republic of China takes note of the consular function which Sweden performs in Macao, and agrees to the continuation of this function after the Government of the People’s Republic of China resumes the exercise of sovereignty over Macao with effect from 20 December 1999.

    3. The Government of the People’s Republic of China shall, in accordance with the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations of 24 April 1963 and relevant laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China, accord necessary assistance and facilities to the Swedish Consulate General in the exercise of consular functions.

    4. The Operations of the Swedish Consulate General shall be regulated by the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations of 24 April 1963. Consular matters shall be handled on the basis of equality and mutual benefit and in friendly and co-operative spirit.

    5. The present Agreement shall enter into force on 1 July 1997.

    6. In witness whereof the undersigned, being duly authorised by their respective Governments, have signed this Agreement.

    Done in Beijing, on 3 November, 1996 in duplicate in the Chinese and English languages, both texts being equally authentic.
